Road safety with the approach of winter

MAIF Prevention Association launched a major campaign on the visibility of pedestrians and bicyclists at night.

To mark the change of time, after the Thanksgiving holiday, a campaign to be seen at night will be conducted in nine cities of France from Nov. 3 to 7 on public squares of cities participating booths will be prepared. A large distribution of reflective accessories will be organized and dressed pedestrians giant yellow hi vis jackets with reflective fabric will animate the event. Beyond parents and children already sensitized by the Pedestrian and Cyclist Permits, the objective of this new campaign is to launch a major preventive action to families, the need to equip pedestrians and cyclists retro objects -reflective, especially at this time of the year when it gets dark earlier. After a launch in Paris, the operation will be deployed in eight provincial cities (Rouen, Tours, Périgueux, Pau, Nice, Valencia, Nancy and Arras). Posters were sent to all schools and colleges selected to educate children and teenagers about the risks of road traffic night cities. The volunteers of the association Prevention MAIF present the operation go to children in a school in each city. They invite them to visit the stand installed on the selected place of their city. The selected cities have all implemented in their schools the "Permit Pedestrian" operations and "Cycling license."

We can only welcome this initiative and we also remind you that it is important to be seen when driving on two wheels. Remember to put reflective logo on your helmet (required), wear safety clothing with reflective tapes or fabric and control your lighting (headlights, turn signals, lights ...).
