Today, Friday, June 15, from 16, Pedibus children, and even those who want to enroll next year, will meet at the Park to consume a healthy snack based on fruit, bread, and jam, and play together ( because rightly the school is over!). Also equipped with a reflective vest for one person.
The Pedibus is a ... the bus that goes on foot, and like a real bus leaves from a terminus, follows an established path, collects passengers along the route and respects the schedule, but unlike the bus, it contributes to the reduction of air pollution and noise in the country and makes it more livable. An "ecological" attitude, but also behavioral, since this simple action also stimulates greater autonomy in children.
The year ends with a brilliant promotion: since when Pedibus started (in 2013) to date, the lines have doubled (from 2 to 4) and the number of participating children more than quadrupled, with almost 80 children " walkers ", which every morning of the school year, in any weather conditions, equipped with high visibility harnesses set off along the paths studied in safety.
A satisfactory result also for the Institute Silvia Pamlico, which finds in Pedibus ideal characteristics for the Green School project in which it participates, coordinated by the Province of Varese and Agenda 21 with the support of CAST ONG and the scientific supervision of the University of Studies, which annually certifies schools in the province of Varese that are committed to becoming excellence in terms of sustainability by reducing their ecological footprint through virtuous behavior and actions and promoting an environmental culture among students, families, institutions and in general to the outside, between the community.
A thank you for the success of the initiative is undoubted to the numerous volunteer adults (about twenty) who accompany the children every morning to school, with so much joy but also full responsibility.
