The premise is to go out of church, to be the way, the struggle and the fatigue that I can offer in union with the passion of Jesus Christ, "says Fr. Arturo in safety vest, diocesan youth pastor. The Extreme Way of the Cross will be held for the fourth time in Gliwice on March 27. - It was founded in 2009 in Krakow; it was invented by Fr. Jack Stryker and the Men's Party of Reality.
We took this idea three years later. Year after year the participants arrive and we have already prepared two routes. 44 km long for those who are not afraid of challenges and have a good condition. And for the encouragement and for those who fear that they will not cope - 27 kilometers, - says Fr. Arturo Patel. EDK will begin after Mass. At 9:00 pm in the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. Both routes are the same to Kosovo, where the trail is split. We are constantly looking for new ways of experiencing the mysteries of the faith, and I think that it is so interesting and innovative that it can be a powerful Lenten accent, especially for those who for various reasons may not be able to participate in penitential practices, or even they slept.
The World Youth Day in our Diocese and Cracow will be especially prayerful, explains Fr. Arturo in reflective vest. - The guiding principle is to move in five or six groups in silence, considering 14 stations of the Way of the Cross along the way. The text of the deliberations is prepared by the main organizers; each participant receives it printed with a plan of passage, a description of the road and the places of thought. The GPS track can also be downloaded to your mobile device, the bookmark of the route. Participants of the EDK may be adults, and with the consent of parents and after completing the appropriate statement also young people from the age of 16. Everyone goes on their own responsibility, but the organizers will take care of the medical service on the route. With each other you have to take food, warm drinks in thermoses, energy bars and get dressed appropriately for the weather and be prepared for the rain. Comfortable, high-waterproof boots are the foundation.
There are also reflective elements (preferably vests) required to navigate public roads. Everyone should have their own flashlight with a spare battery and a charged mobile phone. The Way of the Cross in this form can also be experienced individually in the selected time, because the EDK homepage runs all year round. At any time you can choose a route, considerations and go to pray.
