Latvian Radio addressed young people who work near the city border. They have reflective vests and blue bags in their hands. Outdoor work is not difficult, only high heat disturbs young people, says young people.
Enija from Liepāja Rainis Secondary School No. 6 works in summer for the third year. During these years both weeded flower beds and other works were done. "We went through the forest, picked up debris, carried stags. People pretend not to think about what they are doing. You can find coats, bottles, gasoline spilled out. All kinds of things. We picked up a lot of bags," says Annie.
"Employment Projects", says that the area where young people work has been previously cared for by adults. "It was very overgrown with shrubs, so let's try to keep it clean. The bushes have been cleared, and a birch grove appears, so it's beautiful when you enter the city. The bushes were cut by a brigade with trimmers, but the children help to collect branches and household waste. Children also work on the beach. As you know, people drop bags, plastic products, do not collect behind. The kids are working," says Shalom.
Students also work in libraries and the Liepaja Museum. Several girls are welcome at the museum. On the second working day, there was already more clarity about the work to be done, says Marita Riekstina of the Friendly Call to Liepaja Secondary School No. 5. "There are people on several floors. We count as museum supervisors. The first two days were as it was, excitement, now I know what to do. If the incoming is distracted, then we need to show where the cash register is, etc. Now a lot is free at the museum," says the schoolgirl.
