About one hundred reflective vests have already hit the hands of Bialystok cyclists. The next Municipal Guard will be giving away on Thursday (17 May). Reflective tapes so that cyclists are clearly visible on the road. These are vests bought under the budget of the Bialystok City Guard.
Among the victims of accidents, a large group are pedestrians and cyclists, ie unprotected participants of the road traffic. Therefore, their safety should be taken care of especially. During a collision with another vehicle, the driver can count on airbags or seat belts. Pedestrians and cyclists do not have such protection. And the reflective vests will at least allow them to be seen from afar.
The city guards bought 300 reflective vests for this summer season. They have already distributed the first batch - about one hundred vests - to cyclists encountered on the bike paths of the city. On Thursday (17 May) they will also come out on the streets of Bialystok with vests. And certainly this will not be the last chance to get such a vest - says Anna Alaska from the Bialystok municipality.
And Vice-President Premyslid Suchlike adds: - You will be able to receive them during various types of actions directed to cyclists, organized by municipal guards. We have prepared different sizes, for children and adults. Let's take care of our security together.
Reflective materials are a great way to ensure your visibility on the road. It is worth taking care of it, especially if someone often travels around the city by bicycle - not necessarily in the evening. Unfortunately, the reflections are still underestimated, although they save lives of road traffic participants.
