From the police point of view, the first weekend in November is risky, as several so-called holiday drivers leave for the Remembrance of the deceased. In addition to the harsh, rainy weather, the police have increased road surveillance in many places.
"Holiday riders can do the same damage as so-called road pirates with their little experience of the current heavy traffic," explains por. Iva Kormošová from the Regional Police Directorate of the Hradec Králové Region.
Both traffic and district police officers took part in the measures, focusing on compliance with traffic rules, mainly at cemeteries and on access roads to them. They also took care of pedestrian safety. Many people do not realize that with the fall of reduced visibility, people still forget about reflective material elements such as clothing accessories, reflective tapes.
A total of eight people died on the roads last weekend. There were 297 accidents on Saturday in the Czech Republic, with one fatal accident in the Central Bohemian, South Bohemian, Hradec Králové and South Moravian regions. On Sunday there were 201 accidents, unfortunately, fatal injuries in the Central Bohemia, Pilsen, Zlín, and Prague.
The most demolition took place both days in the capital, during two days there were ninety-eight accidents.
