"State Nature Conservation has ordered us through the District Office in Ruzomberok to treat high-voltage power lines that cross the river Vah with the diversion of bird flight. This has fatal consequences for them, "said Miroslav.
Such a device aims to increase the visibility of wires for birds. "These are plastic signs with reflective elements that attach to the power line. When the wind blows, they spin and give a flashing impression. Even in poor visibility, they reflect enough light to spot and avoid their birds at a safe distance," the spokesperson added.
The works were carried out using a drone. This is the easiest way to get over the river. "If we did not have a drone, it would be very difficult to install. Something could be accomplished by using a platform from the shore, but we could not do much of it other than pulling off the drivers," he said, adding that such a process would be lengthy, costly. demanding and would limit the number of customers.
The company has been installing protective devices since 2016. Since then, approximately 1,000 such devices have been added to Central Slovakia.
